Chase Update

For the forecast discussion regarding today and tomorrow please check the second post.

A tornado watch has been posted for Johnson and Ellis counties south and east. The first of several strong tropical bands from Hermine are approaching the metroplex now. They will most likely have some epic shelf clouds and will be rotating, as will any shower. It will take some instability to get that rotation to form into a surface based circulation (a.k.a tornado) but there should be some isolated tornadoes beginning this afternoon into tomorrow. I’ll be out at various times as convection approaches. I’ve put the site into chase mode as of now. For the latest on the live stream’s status and updates from the field stay tuned to the twitter and facebook accounts.
